Good news: the Southwest Center grant has been renewed for three more years of Winter Schools! Rachel Pries has joined the PI team on the new grant.

AWS 2008 will be held March 15-19, 2008 at the University of Arizona in Tucson on Special Functions and Transcendence. The speakers and titles of their lectures have been announced.

The new Southwest Center directors include a mix of alumni of the early Winter Schools (Matt Papanikolas, David Savitt, and William Stein) and old hands (Dinesh Thakur and Fernando Rodriguez Villegas). They will be supported by an advisory group consisting of David Ben-Zvi, Minhyong Kim, Bill McCallum, Bjorn Poonen, and Doug Ulmer. The new group, led by David Savitt, has obtained three more years of funding from NSF.
